The Tera unlike most of the game as the blind pursuit of gorgeous

It seems like the massively multiplayer online (MMO) game is the new go to game type for developers to Tera Gold cut their teeth on. With an almost infinite number of them at various stages of development, cookie cutter games come and go without doing anything to separate them from the rest. As the MMO has changed very little from the standard “quest-kill-reward-repeat” system perfected in the 90s, it makes one wonder why many studios don’t take a chance to craft something new that can get players interested again.

It doesn’t help when the game a studio chooses to make will be fantasy centric. That market is fleshed full with games that would be hard to usurp people from like EverQuest, World of warcraft, Rift, Lineage, and Aion. Why then is it that Bluehole Studios and En Masse took a chance to bring out another? Because TERA had something else to bring to the table the others didn’t have.

TERA offers a slightly different take when it comes to the background of an MMO. Of course, it is based in the typical MMO fantasy world filled with quests, various monsters and animals, and NPCs that just stand around and do nothing. The difference is in what the core of the game brings to the table. Instead of pitting players against each other by forcing them to choose sides aligned with good or evil, TERA gives players a common antagonist to fight against- the Argons. Players create a character from one of seven races and eight classes to do battle against these creatures seeking to take over the world of TERA.

The game even sets up a sequence of videos and a prologue to entice players to get into the story. Though I have to admit, the prologue did seem to be more of a tease than have an actual impact. As an additional perk, the traditional way we think about fantasy classes has been altered. For instance; a warrior can still be a tank, but he wears leather and wields a pair of swords. Instead of standing an Tera Online absorbing damage, they must hold aggro with their attacks and use evasion to take less damage.
